About Us
At Shoal Creek Nursery, we’re proud to offer everything you need to bring life to your indoor or outdoor spaces. Whether you’re tackling a full landscaping project or just adding a little green to your windowsill, we’re here to help you make it beautiful.
We’ve been proudly locally owned and operated in Austin for over 18 years by Mike and Veronica Sewell. In recent years, we’ve made thoughtful improvements to the nursery to create a more enjoyable and inspiring shopping experience. While our parking lot is on the small side — kind of like a 4” nursery pot trying to hold a 5-gallon tree — we appreciate your patience as we prioritize green space over gray pavement. Like a well-loved garden bed, it may be a little crowded at times, but it all works out with a bit of patience and a whole lot of love.
As part of our commitment to the community, we source many of our products from local growers and makers, and we grow a large portion of our plants at Veronica’s Nursery in Louisiana. It’s important to us to offer locally grown plants whenever possible — not only because they’re better suited to thrive here, but because we believe in supporting other local businesses.
You’ll find a wide variety of healthy plants, imported pottery, quality soils and fertilizers, and unique garden gifts throughout our nursery. From vibrant annuals that burst into full bloom in just one season to hardy native perennials and grasses adapted to Central Texas weather, we offer plants for every purpose and every gardener.
Our team is a big part of what makes Shoal Creek special. Many of our staff members bring years of nursery experience, along with extensive hands-on experience in their own gardens. We’re here to help you figure out what your space needs, starting from the soil up. Whether you’re amending clay, choosing the right plants for full sun, or building a pollinator garden, we’ll guide you every step of the way.
Thank you for growing with us — we’re honored to be part of Austin’s gardening community.
